Outside Agave restaurant

To say that we love Mexican food is an understatement! Anytime we are in Atlanta we have to show our appreciation for the different types of food fusion that this beautiful city has to offer. Agave is another restaurant that we can add to the list of eateries that just touches a certain spot within us.

Agave Cayenne Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Corn

Agave’s Famous Cayenne Fried Chicken

Who said you can not have grilled Corn during Winter? When you see those grill marks on your plate, you know that you are in for a treat. The coating on this Fried Chicken has just the right amount of crispness and was seasoned to perfection. Now when we cut into this Chicken Breast…Need I say more! Ok, I will…The most tender piece of meat all thanks to the buttermilk preparation. Honestly we had a difficult time deciding what part of the meal to eat first. After careful consideration, we literally inhaled the grilled Corn in a few seconds!

The Agave menu featuring Entrees and Sides

We will absolutely vouch for the fact that you can never go wrong with a restaurant that aims to give you the best eating experience with some cultural history. With some of the best Mexican fusion in Atlanta, Agave is undoubtably the sweet nectar of the South!

Spinach Dip with a Mexican Salsa on the side

This was our first time heading to J. Alexander’s in Dunwoody, GA and we can not say that we were disappointed! Whether it be enjoying a meal with a group of friends or having some quality time with your significant other, J. Alexander’s has exactly what you are looking for. From Mexican-style Spinach dip to a rustic, aged Mid-Western Prime Rib, there is something here for everyone.

Deviled Eggs with Bacon and Pickle Relish

Deviled Eggs

Who does not love a good serving of Deviled Eggs! They were sinfully delicious and the crispy, shreds of Bacon will have you salivating. The filling was smooth and the home-made Pickled Relish had us begging for more. We promise that you have never had Deviled Eggs like these. Period!

Cod Fish Tacos with Avocado and Chili Mayonnaise

Fish Tacos

Now if you are a loyal follower of our blog then you know that almost anywhere we go we have to try some form of a taco. We tried the Fish Tacos and the Cod that was used was so flaky and succulent. We love anything crispy so this was absolutely up our alley. The crunch of the Cabbage and the buttery taste of the Avocado was a balance that you would not expect to work, but it does! And please do not get us started with the Chili Mayo! Anything hot and spicy is what we live for.

Slow Roasted Prime Rib with Mashed Potatoes and Au Jus

Slow Roasted Prime Rib

We moved from eating Mexican to enjoying a Mid-Western aged Prime Rib. I took notice at how easily the knife slices through the Prime Rib with such precision. The “Smashed Potatoes” were scrumptious with the homemade Au Jus. I can admit that I made a well with my “Smashed Potatoes” and pored the majority of the Au Jus in the middle. I loved every bit of it! It is so much fun to play with your food.

Whenever you are in the Dunwoody area in Georgia, you need to stop by J. Alexander’s for your fixing of anything from Fish Tacos to a Prime Rib! Check out J. Alexander’s at

The outside of Cinebistro in Atlanta

Going to the movies in a theatre with popcorn is a thing of the past. If you are not having a main course while watching the latest flick, well then you have not had the full cinema experience. Where else could you go to get a meal that looks like it had been served by Wolfgang Puck himself! Cinebistro in Atlanta makes you feel like royalty as soon as you walk in the front doors… Or should I say… They make you feel like a real movie star.

Cobb Salad with Chicken, Bacon, Chopped Eggs, Avocado and Blue Cheese

Cobb Salad

I know what you must be thinking. Atlanta loves Cobb Salads! The surprising twist of the Blue Cheese in this Cobb Salad definitely separates it from the rest. The smokiness of the Bacon with the woodiness of the Chicken Breast on top of these leafy greens gave the main courses a run for their money. The Lemon-Basil dressing was light and we appreciated the fact that it was not drizzled on the salad for us. We could add as much dressing as we wanted without it overpowering the salad. We liked!

Atlantic Salmon with Shrimp on a bed of Collards and whipped Potatoes

Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon

Now just take a look at this dish. The construction of how organized and how detailed this plate looked was remarkable. This is what we are talking about when we refer to eating with your eyes. The Salmon could not have been more flakey. And do not get us started with the Shrimp! The Shrimp and Whipped Potatoes were very reminiscent of the Southern classic, Shrimp and Grits. We could never have enough Bacon and we are pretty sure that Cinebistro knew that, as the Collards had Bacon infused in them. Can you say YES PLEASE!!

Ribeye Cheesestake with Sweet Potato Fries and ketchup on the side

Ribeye Cheesesteak

Nobody said that you have to go to Philly to enjoy a Cheesesteak. Case in point the Ribeye Cheesesteak. The shaved Ribeye was roasted to perfection and stole the show. Everything tastes better with cheese, which is proven with the silkiness of this particular American Cheese. But the Sweet Potato Fries were to die for! We are big fans of seasoning and with each Sweet Potato Fry, it was as though there was a party in our mouths with every bite. Who knew Sweet Potato Fries could do that to you.

If you are looking for a place that will give you Movies With Taste, you must head over to Cinebistro. We are going to keep you in suspense on the movie we saw, but all we can say is that similar to our meals, we were nowhere near disappointed. Dinner and a movie never looked so good in the Atlanta Brookhaven area. Check out Cinebistro at

The outside of STATS

Walking into STATS was like walking into a sports haven. Beer, TV, Great Food, Beer…Beer. We had to admit we did not quite know what to expect, but we had heard some good things about it from a few buddies. Word on the street was that the Kung Fu Ribs were a deLEEcious…(Bruce Lee? LEEcious? Get it? Kung Fu Martial Arts? No?.. Ok)

Chicken salad with bacon bits, eggs, tomatoes and feta cheese

Victory Cobb Salad

I know what you are thinking…A large chicken salad to start…Oh wow so delicious…Cobb salad… And you are right, aside from your sarcasm, it was beyond delicious. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection. Seasoned ever so slightly so that each time a juicy piece of succulent, moist chicken breast hit your tongue  you were in awe at how well a sports bar could cook poultry. Fresh lettuce and arugula, rich sharp feta, crisp bacon bits and delicious cherry tomatoes, played exquisitely well with the perfectly boiled eggs. You won’t need dressing or any vinaigrette with this delicious Cobb Salad.

Salmon with a side of orzo salad

The Angler

Let me ask you something. Have you ever had salmon? Real salmon? Lightly seasoned with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs kind of salmon? Mouthwatering salmon? Cooked just over medium rare salmon? Didn’t you love how the flakes of its soft flesh gently pulled away from the whole portion and rested daintily on your fork? Me too! We were newbies to Orzo salad, but quickly became advocates after this rich assortment of cold pasta and fresh vegetables hit our palates. Overall, statistically speaking, of course we were craving more of this meal.

Chicken sandwich with a side of fries

Dirty Bird

First of all, there is nothing dirty about this bird and we will be having a chat with the chef about defamation of such a delicious dish! But all jokes aside, this was one of the most delicious chicken sandwiches we have ever had! The vinegar slaw was a reminder of how under appreciated a good coleslaw goes nowadays; just the right amount of acidity can go along way. The spicy Sriracha mayo was the perfect addition and complimented the sandwich to a T. Needless to say, the chicken was cooked to perfection and crispy like how Grandma used to make.

Ribs with a side of pickled cucumber

Kung Fu Ribs

Our tastebuds were Kung Fu fighting. These were Ribs of Fury! Crouching Tiger Hidden Flavour! (I’m not a big pun guy)…Anyways these juicy, specially charred ribs were the highlight of the night. Tender and well seasoned with a kick that the name would imply. The contrast of sugar and spices were like a melody of flavours playing the strings in unison. Excellently cooked and served piled atop one another drizzled in a sauce definitely inspired by Asian cuisine. The pickled cucumber slaw on the side was a pairing that we could not argue with. All in all, we have to say we will definitely be recommending STATS to all the foodies out there. For those who love the excitement of sports and want a taste of what Atlanta has to offer, head down to STATS where it is never a dull moment.
